In Somerset, barbaric culling of badgers (still continuing at least until 2025) up to 70% of the population were culled by marksmen – because the Environment Secretary (at the time) believed this was the only solution to rising TB in cattle – but the controversial badger cull failed to hit its target and the Environment Secretary – blamed the badgers for – moving the goalposts.
At the time thought vaccinations were more intelligent and humane solution.
Because sometimes work as freelance environmental contractor, was asked to be involved in a project identifying their locations but i refused (and soon after lost my job – no big deal, there are plenty more ethical companies).
We kill enough badgers, foxes, ferrets, birds, deers, hedgehogs (if there are any left) by our crazy driving on the roads.
