Road to Cingoli

Looking towards Cingoli - m.joy

‘It’s not yet night at Cingoli’ – ‘‘Ancora non è notte a Cingoli‘’

Driving to Cingoli from Sirolo in June – a windy walled town built on a hill that receives the last rays of the sun when all around is in shadow.

Curious about the unknown road. Sometimes – regret taking this road, but often outcome is incredible.

Driving to Cingoli was like this – we drove through beautiful countryside, we felt free and then drove on to Fragassi – to visit the caves.

‘Ancora non è notte a Cingoli‘ means..

If you’re lucky enough to be in Cingoli at sunset, when the shadows slowly stretch out as if to protect the infinity of hills that crowd up to the sea, you’ll realize that the “Balcony of the Marche” will instead remain under the sun for a long time, it will turn off last.

“The dark night has not yet descended on Cingoli!” a very ancient saying, documented for the first time in a 16th century text, to describe the light – the radience – of this town. Over the years, the saying then turned into a proverb aimed at those who have to carry out a task but doubt whether they can do it in good time or at those who wait for someone who is slow to arrive, in short, it is like saying that “hope is the last to go”.

Now reallise – its not about Cingoli but the journey to get there.
