Longing to travel for some time but things happening until just threw a few things in the back of our car and went. We rented a chalet on a small farm in the Swiss Alps for couple of nights and travelled through France camping one night and sleeping another in a basic hotel south of Geneva then drove almost to the other end of Switzerland and up into the Alps. Very impressed how local people scamper up the side of the mountain in their cars like mountain goats. Looking down saw the valley a long way below, froze and needed to ask for help to drive the rest of the way. Although the next day we walked – too scared to drive, to nearest village four kilometers away and caught a small bus up to the high Alps where the cows are grazed over the summer to a Bavarian type event held last time twenty years ago – to give thanks for the good summer.
Our little chalet was attached to a barn with a sweet wooden verandah to watch the sunrise and set over the mountains. It felt very peaceful
