Because many people have so much to say and my own feelings are horror at what a backwards step i think our current Government are encouraging us to take even using laws like Prorogation that havnt been used for 100s of years to thwart an opportunity to debate – it is one of a few times, i feel almost but not totally speechless. It is like watching a car crash.
There is no place like home – especially for those who have had times in their life when they havnt had a place to call home but taking a whole country backwards to Churchill’s era – just after the Second World War – has to be wrong.
Those battles with our neighbours have been fought – they were bloody and noone really won but a lot of innocent people died.
Under the umbrella of Europe – the United Kingdom has become a much more cosmopolitan, tolerant. and welcoming country.
As a child of two different cultures – seems obvious its important to keep the door open to our friends and family in Europe and concerned our ability to survive what Climate Change and who knows what else lies in store for this Planet – where survival and ability to do well depends on us evolving, learning and sharing with others.
The thing find ironic – the surnames most involved in compelling us to leave Europe – Johnson and Farage – indicate a European heritage, our current Royal family originates from Europe and we all love to spend our holidays and hard earned money – in Europe.
