We watched a documentary with Ben Fogle about a family of Russian scientists in Siberia who are attempting to restore the mammoth steppe ecosystem, which was dominant in the Arctic in the late Pleistocene. The hope – by doing this is to stop the melting of the permafrost which if it happened – would bring about catastrophic Global Warming.
