Trade with Europe in 2021 – Belgian Waffles and Chocolate – French and Dutch Cheeses – Spanish Oranges

Swedish and Finnish berries, Italian and German salamis, Swiss watches, Greek olives. German and Austrian cakes and streudels and Christmas Lebkuchen. French wines, German beers and Danish Lagers. We can do without all of these but our lives would be sadder

Trying to take mind off what is burning all around us as hunker down – decided to explore the impact of Brexit on selling things by asking for help on forums. Navigating the Government website is like sailing in a sea mist. Find it almost impossible to see benefits of being outside a trading block. The Brexit ‘Deal’ seems only to have slightly reduced the effect of this decision.

From the stroke of midnight on January 1st 2021 – UK VAT Laws will change as will European VAT Laws which includes both parts of Ireland (i think) from July 2021 Small independent UK businesses who import/export with Europe and previously not big enough to be VATable can VAT register as non-union Tax payer in an EU member country using the the One Stop Shop system.  Submitting ‘returns’ to chosen EU country.

Businesses will probably need a GB EORI number or XI-EORI for trading with Northern Ireland obtained from a Gov website and customs labels , You will need to think possibly about Tariffs/Customs depending on the country of origin of goods you buy/sell and different rates for different things

Maybe it will become easier as the New Year rolls in.
