Grass to power thousands of homes

Thousands of homes could soon be powered by the UK’s first “green gas mill” which will use grass to make gas.‘ Dale Vince, Founder of Ecotricity said: “It’s our new North Sea, and it’s right underneath our feet. Please visit this link and website for Ecotricity – for more information.

Heard about possibilities of Anaerobic Digestion when a local Sussex farmer became very excited about usefulness of Willow as a Biofuel crop and built his own Aerobic Digestor to convert the Willow he was planting into Biofuel. Willow regenerates very easily because of its plant hormones. Cut a Willow branch – into smaller parts, put it in the ground and it propagates.

Most farmers seem very resourceful and this gentleman converted a machine from some other use to speed up planting of the crop.

But grass mixed with herbs sounds much easier source for input.
