Better education + learn from past mistakes

Return to posts written before because – change isn’t easy and doesn’t happen as fast as you would like

Japan recently renamed schizophrenia as an “integration disorder” (more)

Hear too much about all terrible things happening around the World and like everyone else worry too much – about Climate Change, the Ukraine, the Middle East and solutions to Migration. Worry is not a good thing. Bad things may be happening but, now and again, everyone – needs a break.

Of course we care but who really is doing scientific research into serious problems like Schizophrenia?

The only answer seems to be more and more drugs with serious physical health side effects. We can and must do better than this.

What happened to Doctors supporting people effected and being available for routine appointments and without having their customers (patients) navigate technology – where is support for Mental Health issues?

Support seems to have gone out the window. We still are so unprepared.

This might be a reason to rejoin Europe as well as free movement, like before. We would support an honest Referendum – the impact on our own lives and business since the last one has been massive and not in a good way.

Another question, we wonder why is Open Dialogue in the UK still mainly a privately funded organisation and located in only a few parts of the UK – if it helps – makes a difference? Not available on NHS and so only accessible if you have lots of money to pay for it and can afford to travel to where it is located which even with money is difficult for people facing emotional challenges.

Perhaps if the Government thought support for this was important, not just for physical health issues – prisons would be emptier.

Why cant our NHS minimum support families facing these issues with a care package which includes access to – a free nutritionist and fitness instructor minimum. And not just for the recently diagnosed.

If Cannabis or Skunk are seriously contributing to Psychosis in the young – why isn’t more being done to warn young people in schools, nightclubs, pubs, music concerts and unbelievingly sports venues?

Japan and other cultures are trying to reset and look for a more modern approach. One Japanese family wanted the name to be changed because of stigma attached to Schizophrenia.

We know that the meds prescribed to treat Schizophrenia have debilitating side effects and we are very tired of hearing the phrase comparing the need for meds similar to need for meds for Diabetes.

We need a new approach to this serious condition and one accessible to everyone. We need money put into research and we need everyone to be more inclusive.
